Vogues writers describe spring summer trends for 2025 to be a ”soft power” and openness to a sense of wonder.

As winter layers make way for sun-kissed days, the Spring/Summer 2025 runways delivered a masterclass in joyful self-expression. From elevated athleisure to great accessories, this season celebrates fashion as personal storytelling. Here are the top trends to refresh your wardrobe with intention and flair.

Elevated Athleisure

In a recent YouTube video influencer Justine Leconte officiel explains how elevated active wear will be seen a lot this spring-summer season. Straight of the runway brands such as Ferragamo, MIU MIU and Ralph Lauren incorporated active wear with elevated looks.

One of my person favourites Justine included in her video was from Ferragmo. Their spring-summer collection coined as a delicate dance of history, culture and ballet.

This playful design can easily be changed up to be a little more street wear than high fashion runway, by pairing a the wrap ballet top with a skirt and some ballet flats. You’ll notice high-street brand reformation styled it perfectly here. Simply adding a headband with a ballet flat screams, elevated chic and put together.

This look is definitely be picking up for my 2025 spring-summer wardrobe.

There are so many ways to elevate the wrap top and because its elevated athlesuire it is also timeless.

TANK TOP

Justine Leconte officiel also goes on to say in her video overview that tank tops will also be huge this season. A good tank top is a staple in every wardrobe and can be so versitile. I was so happy to see it was getting some recognition on the run ways this season. Designers like, Stella McCarthey embraced the simple tank top trend with some typography on it. Paired with a high waist take on a work pant, again showing elevated simplicity is a reoccurring trend this season.

This trend reminds me of the iconic tank top Paris Hilton wore, that took the internet by storm but was actually edited.

This one from Baboon at Artizia is perfect for every day wear. This could be elevated with a statment necklace, oversized blazer and a mini skirt, or just a simple jean and loafer look.

Justine even goes on to say that some people are getting creative and putting their own stamp on the tank tops, added jewels, broaches etc. to make them their own. A trend I truly love and can get on board with.

great accessories

According to YouTube influnencer, The Style Insider, accessories such as belts are something to watch out for this season.

She worked with the talented street style photographer Janea Mastandrea. Janea allowed her to use some of the amazing street style shots from Paris and Milan fashion week, from this we can see a lot of belts are featured on the streets during Europe’s fashion weeks.

But belts weren’t the long accessory making waves, Janea also captured many long leather gloves! The Style Insider talked about how they can elevate a simple outfit, which is proving to be a trend in its self this season.

Donato D’Aprile from L’Officiel of Ibiza described this as more of a haute couture trend, which I tend to agree with.

I found it difficult to find any high-street version of the long gloves seen on the streets of Paris and Milan.

However these ladies from Paris and Milan can take any Haute Couture look and make it high street.

Final Styling Notes

This season rewards creativity by making a unique stamp on a basic item. Try embellishing a tank top to make it unique. I found a creator on TikTok who is doing this beautifully and I will be for sure trying this trend out.

Seashell beaded embroidery tank top 🐚 I practiced a little before jumping into this project but just ended up doing what felt right as I went along. If you want to try this, I suggest getting a thicker tank top. The one I used was from Amazon and it is kind of see through. #beadembroidery #embroideredshirt #craftygirl #crafttok #hobbytok #pinterestgirl #coastalstyle

Invest in high quality pieces that can be elevated and styled in many ways. Get creative with active wear, think ballet chic or high class tennis when putting together your next outfit.

As both YouTubers remind us, trends are suggestions – curate pieces that spark genuine joy. Invest in timeless looks that will last season after season, then have fun with disposable trends like belt details or funky gloves.

Remember: true style lies in wearing the trends, not letting them wear you.

Let me know in the comments which trends you’ve seen this season that you will be adding to your wardrobe.
